 BA Program Requirements - 2008


Information on this page is applicable for students who commenced the Bachelor of Arts program at The University of Queensland in 2008.

PROGRAM STRUCTURE

Single BA Requirements
In order to complete a Bachelor of Arts you must successfully complete #48 units comprising -

Single Major #16 units

OR

 Extended Major #24 units
Single Major #16 units Minor* #  8 units
Electives #16 units Electives #16 units
Total #48 units Total #48 units
* All majors are offered as a minor and consists of #8 units in total, with a maximum of #4 units at Introductory level

 

Exception for Psychology Students:

Extended Major #28 units
Minor # 8 units
Electives #12 units
Total #48 units

 

Dual program Requirements
In order to complete the Bachelor of Arts component of a dual program you must successfully complete #32 units comprising -

Single Major #16 units

OR

 Extended Major #24 units
Single Major #16 units BA-List Electives #  8 units
Total #32 units Total #32 units

 

Exception for Psychology Students:

Extended Major #28 units
BA-List Electives # 4 units
Total #32 units

 

GRADUATION CHECKS

How to do a Graduation Check:

  1. Print your studies report via mySI-net.
  2. Print Exit Checklist
  3. Print major checklist(s)
  4. Use studies report to tick of courses completed within each major
  5. Check you have met all conditions for graduation (exit checklist)

Our checklist for majors and graduations checklists are very useful and we will always refer you there first if your query is to check that you are on track to graduate.

To have your self-check verified by an Administrative Officer, please submit the completed checklists and your studies report to the Faculty of Arts.  You will be sent an email to your student account verifying or correcting the details.
