New: Concurrent Diploma in Languages and Bachelor of International Studies

Concurrent Diploma in Languages

From 2010 UQ students who have a strong interest in pursuing language studies, either for personal interest or to enhance their career prospects, can now complete the Diploma in Languages concurrently with their bachelors or postgraduate degree.

This program will suit students who studied a language at high school and who want to maintain their proficiency. It may also interest students who have not previously studied a foreign language and students enrolled in a degree that does not allow a language.

The Graduate Diploma in Languages is equal to a major (16 units / 8 courses)  in the language. Students studying the Diploma would generally spread the study of a language across the duration of the bacherlors degree (3 years) but you can take longer.

Students who complete the Concurrent Diploma in Languages will earn a separate award.

The Concurrent Diploma in Languages is available in Chinese, French, German, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Russian and Spanish.

How to enrol in the Diploma

New students can apply directly to UQ once they have received their offer of a place in a bachelors degree at UQ through QTAC.

Continuing students can also apply.  Please click here for more information.
