1. The scholarships are awarded for the purpose of assisting meritorious students to study programs in the humanities at The University of Queensland.
2. A candidate for the scholarship must be a commencing international student and eligible to apply for an Australian government student visa.
3. Applicants will need to complete the university's international application form for admission and forward it to the Manager, International Admissions Section, The University of Queensland, Level 2, JD Story Building, Brisbane, Queensland 4072, Australia. Applicants will also need to send an expression of interest to the International Officer of the Faculty of Arts by e-mail arts@uq.edu.au or by fax +61 7 33652866.
4. An expression of interest should be not more than one page stating why the candidate is applying for a scholarship and how this scholarship will benefit the candidate in the future with respect to their career goals.
5. The scholarships are awarded to the applicants showing the greatest merit, as demonstrated by academic achievement, personal qualities including community involvement, and other such qualities that may seem relevant to the professional success of the candidate.
6. The Fee Scholarship is tenable for the length of the recipient's academic program unless otherwise specified and subject to satisfactory academic performance. A scholar failing to maintain satisfactory academic performance during the duration of the scholarship may be required to show cause why the scholarship should not be cancelled.
7. The scholarship cannot be held concurrently with any other similar scholarship or bursary for tuition fees.
8. The deadline for applying for the scholarship is 31 October 2009 for commencement in Semester 1, 2010 or 5 May 2010 for commencement in Semester 2, 2010.
